This week it's been like S.F. around here. Foggy/overcast in the morning. The marine layer burns off around the afternoon though. Went swimming for the first time a couple of days ago. Very nice! A few people were sunning themselves. Just came back from a walk from The Coffee Bean. Again admired the beautiful big homes in my hood. The flowers and trees smelled great. Lots of gardeners and landscapers were working on the yards. I was tempted to ask if they went to work on Monday. The immigration strike didn't seem to affect the valley much. Am starting to drink half caff. The Coffee Bean seem to get a consistent amount of customers all day long even though it's sort of in the middle of no where, at least not near too many office workers. The clientele is a mixture of young and old. Maybe people who own business or work irregular hours. There's a fire pit outside. Sort of weird to have a fire in May in SoCal. The bad thing about sitting outside to eat is that people are still allowed to smoke in outside dining areas. Weird that LA is less strict than NY about that. Though there is a city nearby, Calabassas, which has the strictest smoking law in the country. The have designated smoking areas so you can't even smoke outside of your office building. Calabassas residence are a rich bunch. I hear the city was basically zoned so the rich can live in nice big houses while still in the LA school system. They do have a nice stip mall there. I am rambling as bloggers will do...
