It's K's b-day! Made a cake for him. Though not from scratch.

Must say, K has turned out to be quite a grill master. Though I do all the prep and marinating work. Yumming chicken and fish the last week.

Actually had a okay day at work. Though/due to the fact that we had a 2 hr lunch for a going a way party. Am using work experience as acting exercise or writing research.

Had a nice chat with K's sister, who called to wish him a Happy B-day. Had a nice chat with H the other day while she was experiencing a black out.

Wonder what we'll end up doing this weekend. Last weekend we went to Santa Monica SAT and a beach closer to us on SUN. We bought beach umbrellas, another chair, cooler and literally sat around for 6 hours. Then we bought a delux cooler with wheels in prep for future sitting around and perhaps for the Hollywood Bowl. Saw an article in the NYTimes on hip places in the valley (ha ha, but they are here, we just have to know where to go.) Maybe we'll check out one of those places this weekend. Yes, we actually subscribe to the weekend edition of NYTimes. Good change from reading the Post while in NY. Saw "The Devil Wears Prada" as well last weekend. Enjoyed seeing the NY backdrop. I'm sure you've seen the "40 Year Old Virgin" so you know what our backdrop is in the valley.

And early B-Day shout out to L if she's reading.

Thanks, babe! Wish you could be here! Hope it doesn't rain on us on Saturday. Also, I would like to clarify for your readership that H. was experiencing an electrical blackout, not an alcoholic blackout.

Happy belated b-day to Kim! How are you guys doing with the heat there? I hope your power stays on and you don't have screw-ups like ConEd handling your electricity situation. I can't wait to see you in September! That's so awesome that you're coming to NYC. You're welcome to stay with me in Brooklyn! Love, Julie
